North Carolina Central University

Junior Austin Vernon faced just one over the minimum as he tossed eight strikeouts in eight innings of work, and authored the first no-hitter at NCCU in the modern era as the Eagles defeated Delaware State, 10-0, on Friday, May 7.

Vernon struck out the final batter he faced in the contest, and that was his 87th of the year.

 

 

 

 

 


Jackson State University

Senior starting pitcher Anthony Becerra had a career night on Friday, lifting the Tigers to a 6-0 win over Mississippi Valley State over the weekend in SWAC play.

The senior finished the night with a new career best 17 strikeouts in nine complete innings. Becerra gave up just one hit on the night while only walking two batters.

 

 

 

 

Nikelle Galatas pitched a gem tossing seven innings, scattered five hits and allowed one run and struck out 12 batters to tie a career high.

 

 

 

 


Lincoln University (PA) 

The Lions baseball team snapped an 11-game losing streak in the first game of an East Coast Conference doubleheader beating Bridgeport 10-4  and nearly completed a sweep, before falling in the nightcap.
Junior Trevon Sutton hurled his second complete game of the season, allowing four earned runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts.
