West Virginia State Baseball Continues Its Ranking in NCBWA Regional Poll

After climbing to the No. 9th spot in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II Atlantic Region Top 10 Poll previously announced on Wednesday March 31st, the West Virginia State University baseball team moved up to the No. 8th spot in the National Poll announced on Wednesday April 21, 2021. 

The Yellow jackets, 19-7 overall 16-4 in the Mountain East Conference (MEC) swept its second doubleheader of the weekend series at Glenville State. WVSU came away with four victories in four games played against the Pioneers this past Saturday and Sunday to complete the weekend sweep.

WVSU has gone 12-4 in its last 16 ball games dating back to March 27th. 

In his 7th season, head coach Sean Loyd career record 164-119, WVSU is ranked 24th nationally in statistical information data compiled by the NCAA with a 3.96 earned run average and 25th fielding percentage. Matt Harrison leads the Yellow Jackets in home runs (10), runs (34) and runs batted in with (30).
