Alabama State University
Omar Melendez (3-0) tossed his second straight complete game posting ten strikeouts while only allowing five hits in seven innings in ASU’s 11-0 win in the series opener over Lindenwood.
Albany State University
Golden Rams slugger Lavoisier Fisher starred in the three-game series winning two of three over Savannah State. Fisher during the series was 7-for-12 at the plate, scored three runs, one homerun, and six runs batted in. Fishers’ homerun the series deciding finale marked his 10th of the season.
Kentucky State University
Daccarius Chapman, in KSU’s 4-3 win over Miles, recorded 6.0 innings of work, allowed six hits, three runs, three earned runs striking out nine batters.
In the Dragons series opening 7-5 win over Morehouse, JD Klug in 6.0 innings on the hill recorded seven strikeouts helping Lane to a three-game sweep.
Florida Memorial University
Kyle Morrison threw 3.0 innings of relief in a thrilling 3-2 win over Paine in the Florida Memorial University HBCU Baseball Classic. Morrison did not allow a hit or a run but struck out 5 batters for his second win of the season.
The Tornados took two of three games from No. 21 William Carey (Miss.). In the series opener Jose Franco (4-0) tossed six innings, struck out seven batters, and surrendered five hits, two walks, and no earned runs.
Ramses Ortega earned his first save of the season in three innings of work and posted four strikeouts with five hits and an earned run allowed.
The Lions defeated Voorhees in the Florida Memorial University HBCU Baseball Classic 7-5. Emmanuel Martinez tossed 5.1 innings as he struck out 10 batters for the win.
