Albany State and Savannah State Recognized in Latest NCBWA NCAA Division II South Regional Poll

 

Both Albany State and Savannah State baseball teams continue to be recognized in the latest NCAA Division II Regional Poll released by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on March 15, 2023.

Albany State moved up to the No. 8 position in the latest poll from its previously ranking of No. 9 (tie) last week. The Golden Rams, 13-3 overall and 11-1 in the SIAC conference, remains the HBCU’s top ranked team in the Black College Nines (BCN) Top 10 Poll. ASU defeated Savannah State taking the three-game series 2-1 last weekend. They have another big conference showdown and national ranking matchup visiting Black College Nines’ No. 5 ranked Edward Waters Tigers in Jacksonville, Florida this weekend.

Savannah State continues to receive votes in the NCBWA Top 10 South Region Poll. The Tigers are 11-5 overall and 7-4 in the SIAC. Savannah State continues conference play with a scheduled three-game series hosting Benedict College this weekend.
