Please be advised that the Lone Star Classic between Southern and Arkansas Pine Bluff, neither one of the SWAC schools had sports information in attendance of the game. I was made aware through the events coordinator during and after the three-game series. There are no official stats current just updated Won/Loss records which was not available during the posting of this article well past midnight.
In response to “Anonymous”, I’ll start by saying that we are basically a two person, all volunteer, operation and if something isn’t posted exactly where and when someone thinks it should be, we encourage you (I wish you had provided your name and email) to join us in our efforts. We absolutely need any and all the field reporters and feature writers that Monopoly money can buy. That being said… we have rarely overlook Southern University through our years of reporting and there was a brief review of the Lone Star Classic in a post today entitled “Six Ranked HBCU Baseball Teams Sweep Opponents Over the Weekend”. It was one of four articles researched and written between midnight and 6:00am this morning. I believe that more was to be written of the classic (which I might add was a first class production), however at 2:00am I received a text stating that the final draft of that particular post had been accidentally erased. I think this maybe took its toll on the author.
I expound on my reply to emphasize that we welcome you and anyone else who would like to assist our efforts in preserving the legacy of HBCU baseball presenting current and historical baseball news. I can be reached at [email protected] for this purpose.
