Who’s Hot in HBCU Baseball

Black College Nines provides another edition of Who’s Hot in HBCU baseball.

Bethune-Cookman University reliever Brenton Fisher pitched in all three games in the Wildcats sweep of Jackson State. B-CU won the first game 4-0, game two was a 11-inning 9-8 win, and the series finale was a one-run 8-7 win. Fisher recorded one win, one save in two innings on the mound, striking out four.

 

 


Coppin State University’s Brian Nicolas was six-for-nine at the plate with one double, two home runs, six runs batted in, and one stolen base. Coppin State won two of three games in the series over Delaware State.

 

 

 


Miles College’s Michael Archie had a monster weekend to help Miles extend its winning streak to 10 games. At the plate, Archie drove in seven runs, was 5-for-5 in the batter box, scored three runs, a double, two walks, a homer, and two stolen bases. His effort helped Miles sweep the three game series 9-5, 7-5 and 16-4 in the series finale.
