West Virginia State University will holds the No. 1 seed heading into the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Baseball Championship Tournament this Thursday through Sunday, May 13-16, at Epling Stadium in Beckley, West Virginia.
The Yellow Jackets enter the tournament with a 28-7 overall record and a 24-4 conference record.
West Virginia State and the University Charleston shared the South Division title, with the Yellow Jackets holding the tiebreaker for seeding purposes in the tournament according to MEC conference officials.
West Virginia State will open the tournament against the No. 3 seed Alderson Broaddus at noon on Thursday May 13th.

The tournament champion will advance to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. The winner of the Regionals will advance to the 2021 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship June 5-12, 2021, USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, NC.
West Virginia State continues it’s national ranking at No. 3 in Black College Nines (BCN) HBCU Baseball “small school” Top 10 Poll, and tied at No. 4 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Atlantic Region Top 10 Poll.
