Virginia State baseball is receiving votes in the latest edition of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 10 Atlantic Region Poll as released on Wednesday March 22.
This is just the second time the Trojans have received votes in the Division II era of the program, following the March 1, 2023, edition of the poll.
The Trojans are 12-8 on the season and most recently swept a three-game series over Claflin University last weekend. Three VSU pitching duels marked the first three games of the series before the bats from both sides found life.
The Trojans are also ranked in the HBCU Baseball Black College Nines’ Top 10 Poll this week. They continue to bolster one of the top offenses, not just as a NCAA DII Independent, but in all of Division II. The program is starting to get recognition making headway statistically.
Virginia State faces Lincoln University (PA) this weekend in a three-game series, that is set to begin Saturday, that will see the typical doubleheader and Sunday’s series finale will get started at 1 p.m.
