Texas Southern University was selected to compete in the NCAA Tournament as the No. 4 seed in the Austin Regional at UFCU Disch-Falk Field this weekend. The Tigers (27-26) face No. 1 seed Texas in their opening game, while No. 2 seed Indiana and No. 3 seed Texas A&M round out the regional field.
TSU won the SWAC Conference tournament title to advance to the regional for its second time in three years. This is also the Tigers third NCAA tournament appearance in four seasons. Texas Southern will face Texas Friday, June 1st at 7:00 p.m.
The regional is a double-elimination format, with the region’s winner advancing to the super regional. The winner of the super regional then goes to the College World Series in Omaha Nebraska.
