Savannah State Continues to Garner Votes in Two National Polls

The Savannah State Tigers are ranked No. 1 in this week’s HBCU Baseball Small School Top 10 Poll and continue to garner votes the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Associations (NCBWA) South Regional NCAA Division II Top 10 Poll at No. 8 in the latest April 13 polling.

Savannah State returned to action with a mid-week home game defeating Voorhees College 18-14 Wednesday (Feb. 18) pushing its win streak to 13 games and a 28-6 overall record. They host longtime nonconference rival Edward Waters University in a home and home three-game series April 15 single game in Savannah, Georgia then hit the road for a doubleheader tilt April 16 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Savannah State Tigers have been a regular participant in HBCU Baseball Top 10 and NCBWA polling this season. They were ranked as high as No. 7 in last week’s NCBWA poll.

The 2022 season is just a sign of how hard the players are working and getting to where they need to be at the end of the season. The Tigers would like a return trip back to Montgomery, AL Riverwalk Stadium and the Black College World Series May 10-15, 2022.
