Savannah State Baseball Releases 2021 Schedule And Roster

Savannah State baseball returns to action on February 12 kicking off a 27-game regular season schedule on Tiger Field against Salem University.

The Tigers will play an eight game non-conference schedule in February before opening Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action on March 13 against Clark Atlanta. In December, the SIAC pushed all conference play back to March, but allowed member institutions to play non-conference games in February.

After opening the season with a three-game series against Salem University in Savannah, Ga., the Tigers travel to South Carolina to take on Voorhees in a three-game series in late February. They host Edward Waters on March 2 in Savannah to close out the non-conference schedule.

Over two days, March 13-14, Savannah State baseball will play four SIAC games in Emerson, Georgia against Clark Atlanta, Morehouse, Albany State and Benedict College.

Following a three-game series at Albany State, the Tigers will play a marquee non-conference game on March 22 against SIAC provisional member Edward Waters. The matchup will mark the inaugural JAX Diamond Classic, hosted by the minor league baseball team the Jacksonville Shrimp.

The JAX Diamond Classic will also be one of the only Tigers’ games were fans will be allowed to attend. Following an SIAC policy, fans will not be permitted at any Savannah State home games this season.

However, eight of the Tigers home games will be streamed live for fans to watch through the website ssuathletics.com. Live stream links for those games are live on the Tigers’ online schedule.

Following a trip to Columbia for a four-game SIAC series against Benedict in late March, Savannah State returns home for its final eight games. They face Clark Atlanta and Morehouse in back-to-back four-game home stints to close out the regular season and SIAC action.

The 2021 SIAC Championship is scheduled for April 29-May 2 in Albany, Georgia.

Savannah State baseball also released its 2021 roster, which features 19 returners including key players, Turner DavisDaMorris GreshamChristian HarkeyMax TraceyCameron Diaz, Phillip Woullard, Jr., Enrico Peele, Manny Carucci, and Rahmir Vaughn. Rounding out the roster are seven newcomers.
