North Carolina A&T baseball’s Peyton Winebarger (Jr., LHP, Yadkinville, N.C.) has been named Big South pitcher of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Winebarger has settled into the Sunday starting role for A&T and shined in his second start of the season against UMass-Lowell, a 6-0 win at World War Memorial Stadium. Winebarger threw seven scoreless innings, surrendering only two hits and fanning a career-high 10 for his first win of 2022.
Winebarger’s previous longest outing was the five-inning effort on opening weekend against the Dayton Flyers. He has thrown 12 innings on the season, allowed six hits, no runs, and accrued 17 strikeouts. He ranks 58th in the country K’s.
