Rust Baseball Wins Game One With Nine-Run Seventh, Drops Game Two At Stillman

The Rust College baseball program came back from a five-run deficit in the seventh inning of game one with nine runs to win 16-10 and overcame a two-run hole in game two to take an 8-7 lead but the Tigers won on a walk-off suicide squeeze, 9-8.

Eight different players swiped at least one bag as Victor Clay and Jalik Demar had two each while Malik Berrien led the charge with three to go along with scoring four times.

Brytan Sampson picked up his second win of the season in game one, tossing 1.2 innings of scoreless ball while punching out three Tigers and allowing just one hit.

Clay terrorized Stillman on the bases, zooming for four runs scored, three walks, two stolen bases, two RBIs plus a double.

D’Anfrenee Bonner continues to smoke the baseball, going 4-for-8 on the day with a team-best four runs batted in on top of two runs scored and a two-bagger.

Quincy McGraw Jr. was the sole Bearcat with multiple extra-base hits, picking up a pair of doubles to account for both of his base knocks while scoring twice, stealing a base, driving in a run, and walking.

Jay Terrell preceded Sampson and set the table for the huge comeback, going two-and-a-third frames with one earned run and a lone hit surrendered with two Ks as well.
