A full schedule of non-conference baseball games are on tap this weekend in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) on March 5-7. There will be some exciting matchups on the diamond.
Upsets are just waiting to happen. A perfect example is Florida A&M visiting No. 4 Florida Gators this weekend in a three-game series.
The remaining weekend’s slate of games could produce similar results.
As a rule, non-conference match-ups strengthen, build confidence and cohesion heading into conference action.
College baseball is really about four seasons… the non-conference schedule, the conference schedule, the postseason including the conference tournament and if it is really good, a national tournament.
Conference, as well as non-conference games bring out the best in a hungry team, especially when playing at home. That is HBCU baseball.
