MEAC Announces Baseball 50th Anniversary All-Time Team, Presented By The Home Depot

As the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary during the 2020-21 academic year, the conference office now announces the Baseball All-Time Team, presented by The Home Depot, comprised of 50 outstanding student-athletes throughout the conference’s history.

More than 3,100 total votes were cast, with fans, media representatives, institution sports information contacts and others taking part.

To be considered on the ballot, student-athletes must have been named to the All-MEAC First Team, MEAC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year or Pitcher of the Year, MEAC Championship Outstanding Performer, holder of any MEAC career record or inducted into the MEAC Hall of Fame.

In all, 50 individuals, including four All-Americans and six MEAC Hall of Famers, are recognized. The All-Time Team is listed in alphabetical order by athletes’ last names.

• Jason Battle, North Carolina A&T State: 2001 MEAC Player of the Year; three-time First Team All-MEAC
(2000, 2001, 2002).

• Christian Beatty, North Carolina A&T State: 2007 MEAC Rookie of the Year; three-time First Team All-MEAC
(2007, 2008, 2009).

• Sebastian Boucher, Bethune-Cookman: 2004 MEAC Player of the Year; two-time First Team All-MEAC (2003,
2004).

• Rufus Boykins, Florida A&M: 1995 MEAC Player of the Year; 1995 First Team All-MEAC.

• Vince Coleman, Florida A&M: MEAC all-time leader, career stolen bases (111); MEAC Hall of Fame Class of

• Jordan Dailey, Bethune-Cookman: Three-time First Team All-MEAC (2011, 2012, 2013); MEAC all-time
leader, career ERA (2.32) and career saves (31).

• Montana Durapau, Bethune-Cookman: 2014 MEAC Pitcher of the Year; two-time First Team All-MEAC (2013,
2014); 2014 MEAC Championship Outstanding Performer.

• Kelvin Freeman, North Carolina A&T State: 2013 MEAC Player of the Year; 2010 MEAC Rookie of the Year;
2013 First Team All-MEAC; 2013 Collegiate Baseball All-American.

• Charlie Gamble, North Carolina A&T State: 2007 MEAC Player of the Year; three-time First Team All-MEAC
(2005, 2006, 2007).

• Eric Gass, Delaware State: 1989 MEAC Championship Outstanding Performer.

• Curtis George, Florida A&M: 1992 MEAC Championship Outstanding Performer.

• Francisco Gomez, Bethune-Cookman: Two-time First Team All-MEAC (2004, 2006).

• Reggie Griggs, Florida A&M: 2000 MEAC Player of the Year; 2000 First Team All-MEAC.

• Marquis Grissom, Florida A&M: 1988 MEAC Championship Outstanding Performer; MEAC Hall of Fame Class
of 1999.

• Ryan Haas, Delaware State: 2012 MEAC Player of the Year; two-time First Team All-MEAC (2011, 2012).

• Kirkland Hall, Maryland Eastern Shore: MEAC Hall of Fame Class of 1995.
