Benedict College Adds 35 Recruits to 2022 Baseball Team

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benedict College baseball coach Selwyn Young has announced the signing of 35 new players for the 2022 season.

“This is the probably the largest recruiting class in the history of the school. It is definitely the largest recruiting class I have ever brought in,” Young said.

The class features 31 freshmen and four transfers, who will join the 10 returning players. Of the 35, 20 are pitchers or can pitch. Twelve of the new players come from South Carolina. Among the new class are a set of three triplet brothers from the Bahamas, and two students from the Virgin Islands, including one who will also play on the new men’s volleyball team.

“I’m excited about the incoming class. There are some talented young players who we are looking to build and mold in the Benedict winnings ways. I’m excited about working with them. The future is bright for Benedict Tiger baseball,” Young said.
