Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks to Host Nike Baseball Camp

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore will once again host the Nike Baseball Camp on the Hawk campus from June 26 to 29. Hawks head coach Brian Hollamon will be at the helm of the camp managed by U.S. Sports Camps.

“We gear our camp to teach baseball skills to all of those players that love the game of baseball,” Hollamon said. “During camp, we take lots of time to teach the fundamental skills, as well as the mental part of the game.”

During the camp, instruction will focus on hitting, specific position fielding, base-running and game situations, while the pitchers will have the opportunity to work with pitching instructors.

Options for campers include overnight or extended day for those that can commute. It is open for ballplayers aged 9-18 and welcomes athletes of all abilities.

“When doing our camps, we love to watch players get better day after day, most importantly we love to instill the importance of having fun within the game,” Hollamon said. “The game tends to be lots of failure, but with each failure, there is an opportunity to be successful the next time.”

Campers are initially broken into age groups and then moved according to skill level.

To sign up for the camp waitlist go to www.ussportscamps.com/baseball, overnight campers are $535 and extended day campers are $435.
