North Carolina A&T freshman Canyon Brown has been named to the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American Team it was recently announced. Brown was outstanding in his freshman year posting big numbers where he had 14 multi-hit games as the everyday starter behind the plate.
Brown caught in all of the Aggies 52 game this past season. He batted .276 at the plate, banged 10 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, and 36 runs batted in. Brown led the team in triples and runs batted in.
Brown also made the Big South All-Freshman conference team. Behind the plate, he compiled a .978 fielding percentage with 397 putouts and threw out 22 runners attempting to steal bases.
