Norfolk State played long ball all weekend in each game, and ran its win streak to nine straight games sweeping a doubleheader from Delaware State, 7-4 and 10-6, on Friday. Saturday’s doubleheader was another win against Delaware State by a 3-2 score in 11 innings in game one before a 9-4 loss in game two ended NSU’s longest winning streak in four years.

Prairie View A&M’s baseball team swept Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a Saturday doubleheader winning 8-1 in game one and 11-8 in game two.

Strong pitching by North Carolina Central junior Austin Vernon resulted in his striking out 11 in a complete game 3-0 shutout in the opening game of the doubleheader against Florida A&M.

An infield single and a wild throw gave the Coppin State baseball team a 6-5 walk-off victory over North Carolina A&T in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday snapping a 14 game losing streak. The Aggies took the opener, 9-2, and the nightcap, 16-7.

Grambling State Jason Alvarez recorded ten strikeouts in pitching 7.2 innings on the hill to lead the Tigers to a 10-1 win over Texas Southern Saturday afternoon.

Delaware State, down by four runs, rallied and scored nine runs in four innings to defeat Norfolk State and snapped the Spartan’s nine game winning streak by the score of 9-4 in the second game of a seven-inning doubleheader Saturday.
