Dillard University 2024 Baseball Campaign Includes Tough Non-Conference and GCAC Conference Schedule

Dillard University head baseball coach Trennis Grant has scheduled a very tough baseball schedule for 2024. In his second season at the helm of the program, Coach Grant is preparing his team for the rigors of playing a tough non-conference and conference schedule during the season after dominating the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) championship, then playing in the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round last season.

Grant has scheduled some of the toughest NAIA baseball teams that are fixtures in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches poll each year.

Dillard opens its 2024 campaign with a four-game series on the road at Louisiana Christian University on January 26-27, 2024. Louisiana Christian was 36-15 a year ago. Next comes a home four-game series against Jarvis Christian College on February 3-4.

Dillard University’s rugged schedule includes games against NCAA Division I Nichols State, which played in the NCAA Regionals last season. Also scheduled is a three-game series with NCAA Division II Wheeling University and a non-conference game against SWAC member Southern University.  Dillard will host Madonna University and Loyola University, which makes annual trips to the NAIA Opening Tournament.

Also on the schedule are tough GCAC conference opponents in Rust College and Talladega College, which plays a torrid 20 to 25 games against ranked NAIA programs. Talladega’s overall record last season was 28-18 and it received votes in the NAIA rankings during the season.
