Bluefield State’s Cole Cote Named NCBWA Preseason Division II All-Atlantic Region

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) named outfielder Cole Cote of Bluefield State unanimous preseason honors status joining a trio of the nations best NCAA Division II baseball players. Cote was named to NCBWA Preseason All-Atlantic Region First Team. The junior from Welland, Ontario/Erie Community College posted a .342 batting average last season, with55 hits, eight doubles, one triple, 10 home runs and 41 RBIs.

Bluefield State head coach Drew Bailey had this to say about his player. “Cole Cote to our knowledge is the first pre season all region selection in Bluefield State University Baseball history. Cole had an outstanding season last year hitting .340 with 10 home runs. Cole will play RF this year and split time behind the plate. We are very proud of what Cole has accomplished in such a short time in our program and we look forward to seeing what he accomplishes both as a player and leader of our program.”

Cote was one of Twenty-Nine HBCU baseball players named to the Black College Nines’ Elite teams for the 2022 season
