Alabama State and Troy will meet for the first time this season Wednesday night with the Hornets hosting the contest at Montgomery’s Riverwalk Stadium.

Alabama State (6-10) enters the game on a three-game winning streak after sweeping their series with Mississippi Valley State over the weekend. Trenton Jamison led the Hornets at the plate hitting .769 and recording a slugging percentage of 1.385. He also added a pair of doubles and a pair of home runs in the sweep, while Breon Pooler and two others combined to no-hit the Delta Devils with 18 combined strikeouts in seven innings.
Jamison leads Alabama State at the plate, hitting .394 with four doubles and four home runs, while also scoring 14 times and driving in 17 more runs. Cristopher DeGuzman is hitting .352 with three doubles, a pair of triples and a home run for the Hornets. Meanwhile, Ryan Velazquez (0.00 ERA) and Payton Harris (0.63 ERA) lead the team in earned run average out of the bullpen, while Austin King (2.38 ERA) and Pooler (2.96 ERA) lead the starters.
The meeting between the Hornets and Trojans will be the second consecutive year the two have met at Riverwalk Stadium for the Alabama State home game.
