Intercollegiate baseball at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) has been around since the late 1880s. One of the initial hotbeds of competition was based in the Atlanta area where the first HBCU baseball league was formed in 1896. Since then, games have remained very competitive year after year and the 2024 season will provide another full slate of games beginning this upcoming weekend.
A number of ranked teams in Black College Nines’ Top 10 Small School Division 2024 Pre-Season Poll presented by Guardian Baseball will be in action.
Remember that conference as well as non-conference games bring out the best in a hungry team, especially when playing at home. That is HBCU baseball.
