The Xavier University of Louisiana Gold Rush 2021 schedule is now available, with an opening weekend set for February 5-6 against Morehouse College in New Orleans. Xavier’s home games will be played at Wesley Barrow Stadium, home of the MLB Urban Youth Academy. The scheduled matchups has the baseball team competing against 10 HBCU baseball programs.
The home schedule features 20 games on tap with 9 inning affairs and doubleheaders under first year head coach Adrian Holloway. For six previous seasons (2014-19) at Selma University in Selma, Ala., Holloway compiled a 117-59 (.665) record.
Xavier will play two scheduled doubleheaders both home and away with the University of Mobile, ranked No. 20 in the NAIA Top 25 preseason coaches poll, plus a March 20th DH against HBCU small school national champion Lane College.
The Gold Rush will also have scheduled doubleheaders at home and away with LSU-Alexandria as the two teams will become conference members when Xavier joins the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) as a full-time member, effective July 1, 2021.
