Week Three…
Tuskegee University
Savontae Williams did not allow a single run and the Tuskegee Golden Tigers defeated Clark Atlanta University Panthers 11-0 on Saturday. William allowed just four hits. Williams earned the win for Tuskegee. William surrendered zero runs on four hits over 7 innings, striking out six improving his record to (2-1).
Mississippi Valley State University
The Mississippi Valley State University baseball program pounded 36 hits to out-slug the University of Arkansas Pins Bluff Golden Lions over the weekend three-game series. Mississippi Valley took the games opening series in a pitching duel 2-1, Game two a was an 8-8 tie in the record books before a 16-9 series sweep. Mississippi Valley State Top Performers:
Ty Washington as he was 5-of-8 (.625) who scored four times, drove in three, walked twice and stole a base.
Jan Tolentino with a scorching 6-for-10 (.600) day to go along with four RBIs, two runs scored and a double.
Dreylin Holmes is making noise at the plate. Hit a home run, scoring five times, three runs batted in, two walks, a double, a steal, and hitting .500 in eight at-bats.
North Carolina A&T University
Logan Jarosz (1-1) got the start for A&T on the mound and picked up his first win, going 6.0 innings and allowing just two runs, one earned, on five hits with eight strikeouts. His relievers combined three innings of work and four strikeouts to seal Jarosz’s first career win at A&T.
Savannah State University
The Tigers swept SIAC conference foe Spring Hill College winning the three-games series, a 4-2 score in game one, 13-9 game two win, and earned a 5-3 victory in the series finale. Jose Santiago (4-0) of the Tigers eight complete innings with three hits allowed, five walks and 12 strikeouts.
