Bethune Cookman University – Swept MEAC Southern Division foe North Carolina Central University

Tyler Norris threw a complete game shutout defeating North Carolina Central in game-one of the twin-bill by the score of 5-0. In 8.0 innings pitched, Norris  gave up seven hits, no runs, while striking out eleven batters. He faced 30 batters while improving his record to 3-5 on the season.

 


Texas Southern University – Pounds Prairie View A&M Sweeping Series

Tigers leadoff hitter Kamren Dukes had a monstrous weekend at the plate helping his team to a three-game series sweep over Prairie View. In game two, Dukes went 5-for-7 with two doubles and seven RBIs defeating PVAM 23-0. In the three-game sweep, in 19 at bats, produced a .526 batting average, scored 9 runs, collected 10 hits, with 11 runs batted in.

 


Tougaloo College – Doubleheader sweep of Selma

The Bulldogs ace of the staff Lige Mims, Jr., in Tougaloo’s shutout, defeated Selma 11-0. Mims threw a 7 inning complete game and allowed 7 hits, no runs crossed the plate, struck out 2 batters faced 27 batters improving his record to 7-2 to finish the season.

 

 


Delaware State University – Completed three-game weekend series sweep.

Hornet’s Darnell Maisonet threw a completed game shutout to lead Delaware State to a 3-0 victory over the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore. Maisonet overall threw 9.0 innings, gave up 6 hits, 0 runs, while striking out 11 batters to improve 2-2 on the season.
