Bethune Cookman University
Nolan Santos (3-1) earned the win over Mississippi Valley State on the hill for the Wildcats. Santos worked seven innings, allowing three runs, one earned, gave up four hits, two walks and 11 strikeouts. This was Santos’ second straight double digit strikeout game. Last weekend, he recorded twelve strike outs. This is Santos’ second weekend on the “Who’s Hot” list.
Florida A&M University
Jared Weber had a power-hitting performance over the weekend sweeping Mississippi Valley State in SWAC conference play. Weber was 9-for-14 at the plate with a .642 batting average, scored seven runs, hit two doubles, three home runs, and ten runs batted in.
Alabama State University
Trenton Jamison had an aggressive day at the plate in Alabama State’s upset of HBCU Baseball large school No. 1 Jackson State. The Hornets swept JSU in their three-game weekend series, Jamison was 6-for-14, batted .428, scored four runs, one double, with six runs batted in, and a stolen base.
Talladega College
Darlin Fernandez helped his squad sweep Brewton Parker over the weekend hitting for the “weekend cycle”. At the plate, Fernandez hit .538, recorded two singles, one double, one triple, one homerun, five runs batted in with five runs scored.
Grambling State University
Trevor Hatton had a good hitting weekend as the Tiger swept Alcorn State. Hatton’s batting average in the three-game series was .555 going 5 for 9, with six runs, one triple, two homeruns, and seven runs driven in.
