Delaware State University
Michael Lane (1-1) demonstrated a strong performance on Saturday, striking out 11 Lincoln (PA) hitters over six innings to contribute to the Delaware State Hornets’ victory over the Lions. Lane pitched six innings, allowing five runs, three of which were earned, on five hits and issuing five walks for Delaware State.
Bethune-Cookman University
Edwin Sanchez recorded nine strikeouts over 6.0 innings, allowing only five hits and no runs, contributing significantly to the Wildcats’ 10-3 victory over the University of Massachusetts on Sunday.
Wiley University
Jalen Porter earned his first save of the season as the Wiley University Wildcats won two out of three games against Stillman College in HBCUAC Conference play, winning 15-5. In 4.2 innings, Porter allowed 1 hit, 1 run, walked 1 batter, and struck out 9.
Alabama State University
Starting pitcher Jorhan Laboy (1-0) secured the victory for Alabama State, delivering 5.1 effective innings of relief in a 6-5 triumph over the Grambling Tigers at the Andre Dawson Classic on Friday. Laboy allowed just 2 hits, issued 1 walk, and struck out 7 batters.
Florida Memorial University
In a 5-4 win over Fort Lauderdale in game one of a doubleheader, Florida Memorial’s Kelvin Feliciano recorded the save by striking out the side in the final inning.
Tougaloo College
In a pitcher’s duel, Tougaloo defeated Philander Smith 3-1 in a thrilling ball game with just one error. On the hill, Tougaloo’s Caleb Carter, in a complete game win in 7.0 innings, allowed 5 hits, 1 run and struck out 5 batters.
Jackson State University
Tigers pitchers Eric Elliott and CJ Lewis combined for 10 strikeouts, limiting Prairie View A&M to 2 hits in JSU’s 14-0 win at the Andre Dawson Classic on Saturday. Elliott (W1-0) pitched 5 innings, allowing 1 hit, no runs, and struck out 7. Lewis, in relief, gave up 1 hit, no runs, and recorded 3 strikeouts.
Southern University at New Orleans (LA)
Damian Lantigua went 2-for-2 with 1 run, 2 hits, and 4 RBIs, leading Southern University at New Orleans to a 10-5 win over Dillard in HBCUAC Conference play. During the two games, he was 4-for-6 at the plate.
Huston-Tillotson University
Rams outfielder Gary Wafford achieved a 3-for-3 record at the plate, including 2 runs, 3 hits, a triple, and a home run with 2 runs batted in, leading to a victory over Texas A&M Texarkana by the score of 12-2.
Clark Atlanta University
Panther pitcher Dylan Scott (2-2) pitched 9 innings and struck out 10 batters in Clark Atlanta’s 8-7 win over Tuskegee University.
