Stillman College
Bryant Rhooms has helped Stillman off to a 5-0 start to begin the season. Rhooms’ current batting average is a whopping .625 with one homerun and 10 runs batted in. In the two-game series doubleheader sweep over Tuskegee in game one of a 14-13 slugfest, Rhooms went 3-for-4 with 3 hits including a grand slam and 5 runs batted in. In the second game Rhooms was 1-for-2 with 3 runs batted in. In both games he drove in eight runs for the day.
Dillard University
Jorge Guerra recorded his first win of the season as Dillard defeated Xavier University of Louisiana by the score of 10-7. Guerra went the distance throwing 9.0 innings. Although he gave up 7 runs, he struck out eight batters for the win.
Edward Waters University
Will Valenti’s pitching gem earned him his first win of the season in a 5-2 game two victory over Claflin University to sweep the doubleheader. On the mound Valenti struck out 10 batters in 6.0 innings and allowed only three hits.
