West Virginia State continues to garner national attention after climbing four spots from last week’s previous No. 8th ranking and moved into a two-way tie with Mercyhurst at No. 4 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II Atlantic Region Top 10 Poll announced on Wednesday May 5th, 2021.
Another doubleheader sweep for West Virginia State baseball improved its win streak to 13 games on Sunday, as the squad downed Davis & Elkins 8-5 and 9-4. The Yellow Jackets move to 28-7 on the season and 24-4 in Mountain East Conference play.
WVSU has gone 19-4 in its last 23 ball games dating back to March 27th.
The Yellow Jackets next game will be the start of the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Baseball Tournament on Thursday, May 13th.
