Two HBCU Baseball Programs Listed In DII National Poll

Winston Salem State University and Virginia State University are both listed in this week’s Top 10 of the Atlantic Region Poll of the NCAA Division II, voted by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Winston-Salem State (4-5) opened the 2018 season with a dramatic come from behind win when the Rams scored four ninth-inning runs to take a 5-4 win over No. 4 Millersville on February 2nd.

Virginia State (6-1), off to the baseball programs best record in school history to start the season, were rewarded with receiving votes in the current Atlantic Region Poll.

WSSU, with a tough nonconference schedule return home to the BB&T Ballpark, in downtown Winston-Salem, this weekend, when the Rams will host Glenville State University in a three game set while VSU opens a three game home series against Shepherd University at Whaley M. Colbert Field in Ettrick, VA.
