NORMAL, Ill. (NormalBaseball.com) – The Normal CornBelters have signed free agent catcher Jeese Baker of Edward Waters College to a minor league contract.

Bakerer, a two-time All-GCAC selection, the 2015 GCAC Player of the Year and a 2015 NAIA All-American finished this past season with a .430 batting average, good for ninth in the country.  Baker also finished the season ranked second in slugging percentage (.810), third in runs batted in (75), fifth in home runs (17) and seventeenth in total bases.

He earned conference Player of the Week honors three times this season and helped the Tigers to the GCAC regular season championship with a 32-20 record, including a 13-2 mark against conference opponents.

Baker also performed well in the classroom.  He was named a 2015 Daktronic-NAIA Scholar-Athlete list with a 3.7 overall grade point average and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology this past May.
