Former Talladega College baseball player Kyle Chavez recently signed a professional contract with the Puerto Rico Islanders.
Chavez was the Association of Independent Institute Conference pitcher of the year after leading the A.I.I. with an ERA of 2.58 and record of 13-5. Chavez recorded 113 strikeouts against just 15 walks in 21 starts and 118.2 innings pitched.
