The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced seedings and opening round match-ups for the upcoming 2022 SWAC Baseball Tournament slated to be held May 25-29 at Regions Field in Downtown Birmingham.
Eastern Division Seeding:
No. 1 Alabama State
No. 2 Florida A&M
No. 3 Bethune Cookman
No. 4 Jackson State
Note: Alabama State clinched the Eastern Division top seed after completing the regular season with a 21-8 SWAC Conference record.
Western Division Seeding:
No. 1 Southern
No. 2 Grambling State
No. 3 Prairie View A&M
No. 4 Texas Southern
Note: In the Western Division, Southern gets the top seed after completing the regular season with a 21-9 record in conference play.
Alabama State will face Texas Southern in the opening round of tournament action.
Southern will square off against Jackson State.
Florida A&M will open the tournament against Prairie View A&M.
Grambling State will take on Bethune-Cookman in the first round.
The double-elimination format starts at 9:00 a.m. CST on Wednesday, May 25 – 29. All tournament games will be available live on the SWAC Digital Network. Championship games can be viewed on ESPN3.
