Stillman Takes Down Top Ranked No. 14 William Carey, 11-1

Stillman College hosted William Carey on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers took down the number 14 team in the country by a score of 11-1. The win is the seventh in a row for the Tigers.

Stillman (13-18) slowly built a lead on the Crusaders (27-13), scoring a single run in each the second, third, and fourth innings, before blowing the game open with a six run 5th inning. The Tigers used 16 hits (all singles) to score 11 runs and end the game in seven innings.

Lazaro Rodriquez set the pace at the plate. Rodriguez finished 3-for-4 with two RBI.

CJ Copeland pitched a complete game for Stillman. Copeland gave up just one earned run on four hits.

The Tigers are at home this weekend for a series with Tougaloo. Game one will be Friday at 1:00 pm. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:00 pm.
