Southern University Baseball Student Athletes Excel Academically

The Southern University baseball program recognized 30 of its student-athletes who earned at or above a 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) making the Dean’s List, including the ones that achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the fall 2020 semester. Ninety percent of the baseball roster registered a 3.0 GPA or better this fall.

Seventeen Jaguar baseball players made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll by posting a 3.5 or above grade point average this fall. The group included Isaiah Adams, Markaylon Boyd, Wes Crockett, Brendon Davis, Anthony Fidanza, Jahli Hendricks, Jadarion Herrod, Hampton Hudson, Dillen Miller, Zavier Moore, Ryan Ollison, Luis Enrique Ozoa-Rosado, Tremaine Spears, Jacob Snyder, Donovan Thompson, Caleb Washington, and Judah Wilbur.

Five players posted perfect 4.0 GPA’s, Markaylon Boyd, Brendon Davis, Anthony Fidanza, Dillen Miller and Donovan Thompson.

Jacob Snyder and Hampton Hudson, both playing an extra year of eligibility in 2021 granted by the NCAA because of the worldwide spread of the COVID-19, were fall 2020 graduates.

According to head coach Chris Crenshaw “all of the credit goes to the players and their hard work. I want to personally thank our athletic department and academic team, Athletic Director Dr. Trayvean Scott, Academics and Student-Athlete Development  Denzel Lewis and our Academics Director Savanna Smith for helping the success of my players in the classroom.”
