Salma University capped another stellar baseball season with its fifth consecutive post season selection. The Bulldogs qualified to participate in the 2015 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) South Regional Baseball Tournament. The tournament is being hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Fla. The three-day tournament is scheduled for May 7-9, 2015. The winner of the South Regional advances to the 2015 NCCAA World Series.
Salma has a string of tournament history having played in four successive United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) tournaments. The NCCAA Tournament marks as the fifth straight playoff appearance for the Bulldogs.
Salma ranked 6th nationally in the latest Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Black College Nines (BCN) baseball poll, Head Baseball Coach Adrian Holloway is thrilled with his team’s success heading to the National Championships.
“Salma University baseball has qualified for the NCCAA South Regional Tournament. We are the #3 Seed and will face Clearwater Christian University Tomorrow at 2pm in the opening round. We finished the season with a 17-8 record. We had a great season with young players. We have two juniors. The rest of our players are freshman and sophomores.” Coach Holloway also stated “we have been in the top 15 in the NCCAA Poll all year, with this being our first season in the conference”.
The three-day tournament will include the following programs: Palm Beach Atlantic University, Toccoa Falls College, Shorter University, Trinity Baptist College, Clearwater Christian College. The 2015 NCCAA World Series starts May 20-23, 2015 Prasco Park Mason, Ohio .
