The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has released its Week 5 edition of the NCBWA Division II Top 25 Poll and Historically Black College and University (HBCU) baseball program Savannah State University have garnered votes this week.
The South Region lists Savannah State as the No. 10 team in the DII Top 10 Regional rankings. In the previous poll, The Tigers were ranked No. 9.
Savannah State started the 2022 season unranked winning its way into the No. 10 ranking. The Tigers played in the inaugural Black College World Series last year. It marked the program’s first-ever shot at a national title.
Savannah State returned nearly all of its 2021 roster for the 2022 season.
