Preseason Overview:
After the departure of former head coach Ty Roberts, Milton Barney was named the head coach of the Miles College baseball program earlier this month. Barney brings a wealth of experience to the Golden Bears baseball program with a recent stop at Mississippi Valley State University last season. Barney also played three-years at Grambling State University.
The Golden Bears are set for a breakout year under new Head Coach Barney. Miles will be lead by all conference players Trey Rutledge and Brandon Leroy. The Golden Bears return seven starters from last year’s team including Maxwell Davenport, Kaleb Priest, and Mason McClammy. While relief pitcher Logan Watts will be sidelined with an injury, the Golden Bears have added some key additions to the pitching staff with newcomers Nick Copen, Trevor Brown and freshman Branson Honea. Other newcomers who look to make an impact are Austin Brewer and Kieto Muto.
