The Jarvis Christian University Athletics Department recently announced the hiring of head coach Dion Holbrook to lead the school’s baseball program.
Holbrook is no stranger to HBCU baseball. He received a scholarship to play NCAA Division I baseball at Grambling State University. Holbrook was a starting outfielder and pitcher for the Tigers.
A native of Arlington, Texas, Holbrook was the assistant coach of Grace Prep Academy in Arlington. He was also a pitching coach at Mountain View College in Dallas where he also started his collegiate baseball career before attending Grambling.
After his collegiate playing days, Holbrook has coached winning seasons for youth and amateur baseball teams and was involved with several showcases and camps throughout Texas.
The podcast focus on Holbrook plans to build and expand Jarvis Christian baseball into a successful tradition with the student-athletes who will represent the school and community with pride.
