Podcast: Albany State Head Baseball Coach Daniel Stockdale

After leading the Albany State baseball program to the NCAA Regional in 2015 in his first season at the helm, Daniel Stockdale has reached yet another new level of success with Albany State. In his first season with the Golden Rams, ASU finished with a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) record of 16-6, winning the 2015 SIAC Championship. The Golden Rams advanced to the 2015 NCAA Division II South Regional Baseball Tournament for the second time in school history.

Now in his second season as head coach, Stockdale is building his program into becoming one of the nation’s most talented baseball teams. The 2016 schedule featured games against top-ranked NCAA Division II ballclubs. This has led to record crowds, excitement and national exposure for Albany State baseball.

Prior to Albany State, Stockdale served as an assistant baseball coach for NCAA Division I, Savannah State University. While at SSU, Coach Stockdale worked directly with catchers and assisted with the development of all hitters.

Prior to Savannah State, Stockdale served as head baseball coach at Pinecrest Academy. He also has experience as an assistant coaching and camp instruction at Temple University and with the Augusta Green Jackets, Single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.

He played both basketball and baseball collegiately at Truett-McConnell Junior College and finished his career at Reinhardt University. Stockdale holds two degrees: M.A.T- Special Education, General Curriculum, Augusta State University, 2010 and a B.S. – Sports Administration from Reinhardt University, 2006.
