The North Carolina A&T baseball team released their 2022 schedule on Thursday. The slate features four non-conference series.
The schedule also includes three Power Five tilts against N.C. State, North Carolina (UNC) and the University of South Carolina (USC). The Aggies first-ever Big South Conference game will occur in East Greensboro against Longwood on March 25. The Aggies will also play in-state non-conference competition in Davidson, Appalachian State, UNC Greensboro, Elon and the Charlotte 49ers.
A&T coach Ben Hall enters his eighth season as the headman in AggieLand. Hall is 118-116 since 2017 with a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship, an NCAA tournament appearance and two MEAC divisional titles.
His Aggies open the season with 10 of their first 12 games at home at War Memorial Stadium, starting with a three-game series against Dayton, Feb. 18-20. The 10 games also include a three-game series against UMass-Lowell (Feb. 25-27) and Holy Cross (March 5-6). The Aggies will also play the first of two games against cross-town rival UNCG at home on March 1. They will also play at UNCG on Tuesday, April 19.
After the long homestand, the Aggies head to Nebraska to play Nebraska-Omaha in a March 11 doubleheader before playing two games (March 12-13) at Creighton.
When the Aggies leave the Cornhusker State, they return to the #TheWar to play eight of their next nine games. They play single games against App State (March 15) and Davidson (March 29). Also, during the homestand, they will have a three-game series against Canisius (March 18-20) and new conference foe Longwood (March 25-27). During this portion of A&T’s schedule, their only road game is at N.C. State on March 22.
The Aggies next seven games are on the road with a three-game conference series at Charleston Southern (April 1-3) and at UNC Asheville (April 8-10). They will then play at UNC (April 12), which has become a common occurrence. The game will mark the fifth time the Aggies have played the Tar Heels since 2018.
