Norfolk State’s Manny Jackson Signs MLB Draft League Contract With State College Spikes

Norfolk State’s Manny Jackson has finished his collegiate playing days, but he will continue his baseball career by signing an MLB Draft League contract which plays from early July until September (50 games). Jackson will play for the State College Spikes in University Park, Pennsylvania.

The catcher batted .330 in 52 games with 16 doubles, 3 home runs, and 30 runs batted in. In addition, he had a .988 fielding percentage.

The MLB Draft League had a record-setting 52 players selected in the 2024 MLB Draft. The previous high was 47 in the 2021 and 2023 drafts. Additionally, the Draft League had 36 players selected, during this year’s three-day event. Overall, the Draft League has had 185 players picked in the MLB Draft since the league’s beginning in 2021.
