N.C. A&T Baseball Finalizes 2021 Schedule

The North Carolina A&T baseball program has announced its 2021 schedule, which features 20 home contests and 33 road games.

The Aggies open the season with a three-game series against College of Charleston beginning on Feb. 19 at 4 p.m.

N.C. A&T plays a midweek against Liberty on Feb. 24 before their home opener against Appalachian State on Feb. 26 at historic War Memorial Stadium. The App State game marks the start of a five-day, four-game series against the Mountaineers, playing two games in Boone, N.C., and two games in Greensboro as they alternate sites each day.

The Aggies hit the road to take on The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., March 5-7 before welcoming UNC Greensboro to War Memorial for the first time in program history at 4 p.m., Tuesday, on March 9.

The second of three games the Aggies will play against the Spartans occurs on March 23. The other contest is on April 20. Elon and N.C. A&T face each other in a three-game series, March 13-16, with two games in Greensboro and one at Elon.

App State comes calling again on March 16 as they will play the Aggies for a fifth time on March 16 at 5 p.m. before beginning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play.

In the shortened 2020 season, sports information directors and head coaches projected the Aggies to win the conference. They had three preseason All-MEAC players in preseason pitcher of the year Michael Johnson, first-team All-MEAC shortstop Dustin Baber and second-team All-MEAC catcher Ryne Stanley.

All three are returning thanks to the NCAA forgiving one year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Conference play begins with a four-game home series against archrival N.C. Central, March 19-21, with a doubleheader on Saturday. The Aggies head to Tallahassee, Fla., for a series against the Florida A&M Rattlers, March 26-28.

N.C. A&T takes a break from MEAC action the following week and play a four-game non-conference series against Big 12 opponent Baylor. April 1-3 in Waco, Texas. N.C. A&T returns to conference play with a road series against NCCU before heading to Raleigh, N.C., to take on N.C. State on April 14 at 6 p.m.

The Wolfpack earned a narrow 8-7 win over the Aggies on March 11, 2020. The MEAC canceled the season soon after due to the pandemic. The Aggies play the Rattlers, April 16-18, and battle UNCG at First National Bank Field, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers, on April 20 at 6 p.m.

A three-game weekend series at Coppin State occurs, April 23-25, preluding the last series against NCCU, a home stretch scheduled for April 30-May 2. The last midweek game is slated for May 4 at High Point, a future Big South conference foe.

The Aggies round out the season with a road series at FAMU, May 7-9, and a home series against Coppin State, May 13-15. The 2021 MEAC Baseball Tournament will be played in Norfolk, Va., May 20-22.
