It’s opening weekend for MEAC baseball. Conference play is officially back in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference as of this weekend. The fate of the season could be settled in a critical showdown as a full slate this weekend is loaded with action.
Games between MEAC conference opponents most likely will produce one or two surprises.
Within the MEAC division, rivalries exist between multiple teams, players and coaches. The intensity level gets cranked up when playing and preparing for teams within conference schedules.
Ramped up intensity and inner-conference rivalries certainly lead to many close, hard fought games. However week in, week out grind of high intensity baseball can also be a grind and lead to some pretty good ball games for postseason placement.
Both Bethune Cookman University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore will not be competing in 2021 due to COVID-19 concerns.
