Lincoln University (PA) Athletic Director Harry Stinson III officially announced on Friday, August 8 that Anthony Vincent Connor has been named the next head coach of the baseball program, removing the interim tag in the process.
Coach Connor took over the program as interim head coach at the start of the 2024 season. He’ll begin his first full season leading the baseball program into fall ball and the start of the 2025 season.
Vince Connor was hired as an assistant coach under former head coach Anthony Pla serving as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the Lincoln Lions. During his four-year tenure, Lincoln posted season lows in earned run average twice (2021 and 2023), hits per nine innings allowed three times (2021-2023), fewest runs allowed three times (2021-2023), strikeouts per nine innings twice (2021 and 2023), fewest hit batters per nine innings twice (2022 and 2023) and fewest walks per nine innings three times (2021-2023).
Coach Connor has served a variety of roles in his time with the baseball program, serving as the Pitching Coach from 2020-2024, while also taking on the role of Recruiting Coordinator in 2022 and Assistant AD for facilities and equipment for the 2023-2024 season.
Vince Connor joined the Lions after coaching high school baseball in South Carolina for 14 seasons. He graduated from Coker College where he competed for two seasons on the baseball team before a “non-sports injury” ended his playing career.
