The Lane College baseball team split a doubleheader with Rust College on Tuesday at Lane Park.

Rust jumped out to an early lead after a sacrifice fly from Dreylin Holmes scored Jordan Robinson who led off the game with a double.
The teams went scoreless until the 4th inning when Holmes homered to push the lead to 2-0.
The Dragons scored their only runs of the game in the home half of the 4th when Melvin Crayton hit a sacrifice fly that scored Christian Armstrong who singled to lead off the inning. A Bulldog error then plated Thomas Arias to make the score 2-2.
Jalin Thomas opened the 5th inning with a homerun which proved to be the difference as Rust scored three insurance runs to take the first game of the twinbill, 6-2

The Lane bats came alive in game two as the Dragons pushed across 13 runs on 14 hits.
Crayton led the way at the plate going 3-for-4 with a homerun, three RBI, and two runs scored. Chris O’Neal, Treviz Brown, and Zach Elias all had multiple hits for Lane.
As a team, the Dragons were a perfect 5-for-5 on stolen bases.
Thomas Arias (1-1) picked up the win in 5.0 innings of work while adding two RBI
The Dragons are back in action this weekend when they host Kentucky State on Saturday and Sunday at the Ballpark at Jackson (home of the Jackson Generals). Both games will be doubleheaders beginning at noon.
