Jackson State’s Nikelle Galatas Selected Preseason All-American by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association

The preseason accolades for Jackson State hurler Nikelle Galatas continue to the pour in. Galatas continues to receive national recognition being named a preseason third team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), the publication announced recently.

Galatas, a senior, enters the 2022 campaign with very high expectations after blossoming into one of Jackson State’s most consistent pitchers.

Last year, Galatas was 9-2, with a 3.12 earned run average in 15 appearances. He started 12 games, with four complete games, 1 save, 86.2 innings pitched, and recorded 89 strikeout which helped the Tigers to record of 34-9.

The California native held his opponents to a .206 batting average in 2021.

He is the only HBCU NCAA Division I player selected to the All-Americans list by the NCBWA.

The NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball.
