The Jackson State University baseball team will face the Mississippi Braves in the Hank Aaron Tribute game at Smith-Wills Park next spring.
The exhibition game will be played on April 5, 2023, prior to the start of the Braves’ season.
Funds raised will go into nonprofit Revitalization Assistance Program, which will go directly toward facility upgrades to help benefit Jackson area youth.
The game is named in tribute of Aaron, who long held Major League Baseball’s home run record from 1974-2007 with 755 home runs. Aaron died in January 2021.
