For the second straight week Jackson State University has received votes in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division I poll released on Monday, March 29.
The Tigers are 14-6 overall this season, with a 9-0 mark in the SWAC and a 7-1 record at Braddy Field.
It’s not easy to become recognized at the national level, but head coach Omar Johnson I think deserves to be ranked in the top 30.
So far the season is highlighted by sweeping conference rival and Black College Nines’ HBCUpreseason No. 1 Alabama State this past March 5-7, and No. 9 Alcorn State on March 12-14 on the road.
Next up for Jackson State is a non-conference game at Tulane University on March 30, then a three-game series at Mississippi Valley State on April 1-3.
